NOKIA-PILIPINAS WINS SEABA JUNIOR
CHAMPIONSHIP |

08 May 2008 - Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur representatives Third Secretary and Vice Consul Marford M. Angeles and Attache Mr. Gangco T. Punginaguina join the Nokia Pilipinas Team led by its Manager, Mr. Jun Sy, and Coach, Mr. Franz Pumaren, as the team receives the Southeast Asia Basketball Association (SEABA) Championship Trophy for Junior Men 2008. The RP Youth Basketball Team remained undefeated throughout the competition, as they outplayed their counterparts from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Members of the Filipino Community in Malaysia occupied one-fourth of the seats at the Malaysian Basketball Association Stadium in support of the Philippine team. Their loud cheers and encouragement made the Philippine team feel like the “hometown team”. Team Manager Mr. Jun Sy, who is also CEO of Nokia Pilipinas and Tao Corporation, expressed appreciation for the Filipino community’s overwhelming support for the team throughout the games in Kuala Lumpur.
