PHILIPPINES WINS TOP PRIZE IN THE FIFTH INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN AND YOUTH ART FESTIVAL IN IRAN

 

02 May 2008 – Philippine Ambassador to Iran Aladin G. Villacorte reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that Justen Paul Tolentino, a thirteen-year-old Filipino student, was among the 31 awardees in the Fifth International Children and Youth Art Festival: Optimum Water Consumption held at the Institute for the Development for Children and Young Adults in Tehran on 21-24 April 2008.

 

The competition was organized by Tehran Province Water and Wastewater Company in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  The art competition is an awareness campaign for the conservation of water.

 

Mr. Tolentino’s design was among the 8,400 works received from 31 participating countries.

 

The Embassy’s Cultural Attache, Ms. Emelyn M. Cosino, received the award on behalf or Mr. Tolentino during the awarding ceremony on 21 April 2008.  END
