MEDIA REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION FOR THE AMM/ARF/PMC

11 July 2008 - Attached is a copy of the media information kit from the Media and Publicity Subcommittee of the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the 41st ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM) / Post Ministerial Conference (PMC) /15th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).

The media accreditation process and requirements, as well as the media guidelines, are almost identical to the arrangements during the ASEAN Summit in November last year.

The Media Centre will be at the RELC, a hotel beside the Shangri-La Hotel, where the meetings will be held.

Only accredited media will be allowed to cover the ASEAN meetings.  Accredited media should present their confirmation letters and produce valid IDs with photo to collect their media passes at RELC.

As in the ASEAN Summit, media pooling will be necessary for most media opportunities due to lack of space.  Please see annex for a list of the official activities and the number of media representatives from the Philippines that is allowed to cover the event.  Photographers/cameramen from media organizations should register with the designated Media Liaison Officers (First Secretary Neal Imperial is the MLO for the Philippine Embassy).  Media, wire agencies, and journalists should register with the Pool Registration Counter at the Media Lobby or via email at mediapool@41amm.sg by 1400h one day before the event.  Media pooling passes can be collected from the Pavilion Ballroom of the Shangri-La Hotel an hour before the event they have signed up to cover commences.

There will be a Broadcast Centre on the 10th floor of the RELC.  For specific information and contact points, please refer to the media information kit. END
