13 September 2017 PARIS – Eleven Filipino brands (Mia Arcenas, Merriam Batara, Ethnique, Neil Felipp, Filip + Inna, Floreia, Natalya Lagdameo, J Makitalo, Otsirav’e, Tali and Wataru), all under the Philippine banner, were showcased at the Première Classe fashion fair in Porte de Versaille, Paris. The faire will run from September 08 to 11.
Première Classe is the prestigious meeting place of fashion accessories designers showcasing leading and emerging brands. This trade show takes place twice every September, one at the Porte de Versailles and the other at the Jardin de Tuileries, and features over 900 brands and designers chosen for their creativity, originality and style.
The collections of the eleven Filipino designers, which included jewelry, fashion accessories, bags and shoes featuring Filipino materials and savoir-faire, shared a 40-square meter space under the banner “Focus: Philippines.” The space was spruced up with real banana trees flown in just for the fair and included a Filipino sala to allow buyers and visitors to feel right at home while admiring the Filipino designs.
Philippine Ambassador to France Ma. Theresa Lazaro, visited the Philippine pavilion on the first day of the fair and met with some of the designers present. Ambassador Lazaro visited each of the stands and congratulated Agence Le Bon Mot, a Paris-based agency run by Michealle Torres and Bianca Monzon, for their excellent initiative to bring in the eleven Filipino designers to Première Classe.
